Summer Transfer Activity (or lack thereof...)

I can't remember a more lacklustre summer in terms of signings in England. In Mid-summer, the general consensus was that we would get a flurry of activity towards the end. I think it is safe to say that this has not happened, or at least not yet. Even the signings that have been made so far fail to set the pulse racing. Big name signings would always whet the appetite for the new season.

Why has it all been so humdrum this year?

yeah , they made every one overprice every player

i think most big clubs are finding it hard to get any player for less than 20 mil

I think the "Chelsea Factor" has played a big role in inflating the prices of the best players.

This may explain the lack of big-name signings in the Premiership, as the top clubs can't afford to pay Chelsea prices.

Good call Q..

I think Wenger said it best when asked about Wright-Phillips, he was frustrated that Chelsea havent made an approach yet, bcz until then, it is useless to even consider preparing any paperwork or even bother sending a fax to enquire, bcz u know u r overbid by Chelsea whether u start wirg 5 mil or 55 mil! So ur safest bet is to wait and see if Chelsea really want a player or not, then move...
